Our Moline facility is currently seeking a highly professional, qualified individual for the position of Aircraft Service Maintenance Intern.  Position directly reports to the Service Supervisor.  This internship is for the summer of 2021, approximately May-August and is open to currently enrolled students in an A&P program that have preferably completed the 1st year of training by the start of the internship.

This hands-on position will provide general assistance with on-aircraft tasks related to the maintenance, inspection and repair of the day to day operations of the Jet/King Air Service Center.

Responsibilities of this position include:

  •  Assist Team Leads as directed with tasks in varying scopes, may include fueling, defueling, general servicing of aircraft systems and support equipment, shop maintenance and aircraft ground handling.


  • As experience is developed may assist with basic troubleshooting and repair of airframe, engine and component systems under direct supervision and guidance of a qualified A & P.


  • Under the direct supervision and guidance of a qualified A&P technician, assist in the preparation of various documents for record keeping purposes, as required by Elliott Aviation Policies and Processes, FAA Approved Repair Station and Quality Control Manuals, to include turnovers and personal training logs (OJT).


  • Under the direct supervision and guidance of a qualified A&P technician, locate and use appropriate manufacturers’ technical data to include OEM Aircraft Manufacturers Maintenance and Component Maintenance Manuals, and FAA Airworthiness Regulations (FARs).  Follow verbal instructions to complete assigned tasks.  Build and develop personal proficiency and quality maintenance techniques based from OJT experience.


  • Support, maintain and comply with all Federal, OSHA, State, local regulations and Elliott Aviation’s Environment, Health & Safety Policies and Processes.


  • Performs other related duties, as assigned by management.

Top candidates will possess excellent mechanical aptitude and a desire to work.

Other requirements include:

  • High school graduate or equivalency degree required.
  • Currently in A&P program successfully completed 1st year preferred
  • Must possess minimum tooling required to perform duties assigned
  • Must be able to work various shifts, as needed
